An Open Letter to the
Alexander Graham Bell
Association for the
Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Meredith Sugar, President of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AGBell), wrote an article titled "Dispelling Myths About Deafness" in which she denied years of research and disparaged the Deaf, our culture, and the living, vibrant language which is American Sign Language (ASL) (http://www.agbell.org/in-the-news/response-nyle-dimarco/).  She wrote this article in response to the Nyle DiMarco article published in the Washington Post on March 28, 2016. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/reliable-source/wp/2016/03/28/a-dancing-with-the-stars-contestant-is-vying-for-a-white-house-correspondents-dinner-invite/).

The VAD Board responded with an open letter to Meredith Sugar.  Click here to see the letter.
