VAD has a long and proud history, dating back to 1884. This makes VAD one of the oldest State Associations of the Deaf in the United States. This is because of VAD members who have been involved since 1884. Because of these VAD members, VAD has a long, distinguished history to be proud of.
VAD is a nonprofit organization made up of people who are dedicated to the general welfare of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is these people who volunteer their time and energy to make things happen. If you want to be a volunteer for VAD, the first step is to become a VAD member. Please go to the Membership Dues page.
VAD is proud to be a cooperating member of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD).
